The machine is for everyone
It stands in a public hallway. There is no door, no badge reader and no list of approved names. Anyone may walk up to it. Eight units sit behind the glass where the crisps used to be.
The keypad is under a strip of tape. The coin slot has a cross drawn over it in marker. Both of those were done by service, and service has the only key.
